Silly, Silly
There are times when I just have to laugh at how silly my children are...
like the other day when I looked over at Wyatt and Icyle while they were playing and saw this...
Or when this afternoon when Wyatt said "Take this picture of me!" and went over and posed over his baby sister (being very careful not to sit on her)... made me laugh...
like the other day when I looked over at Wyatt and Icyle while they were playing and saw this...

Do we look alike?
This morning my mom was looking for some school pictures of my brother that he needed for something and she came across this picture of me when I was about 6 months old. She sent it to me because she thought it looked so much like Icyle... I would have to agree that we look very similar... only I have dark brown eyes and she has bright blue eyes... but other then that I think we look a lot alike... what do you think?
Anyways, this picture got me thinking about Johnny Jump-ups and how we have one, but I have never brought it out for Icyle to use. So I went to the garage and dug around for a few minutes and found the Johnny Jump-up. I set it up in the doorway of our main level bathroom (since it is the only place on the main level that we have a door frame) and put Icyle in it to jump till her heart's content.
She had a Fabulous time....

that is until Wyatt came along and made her "jump really high" which roughly translated means "smacks into the door frame".

So, that was the end of the 1st Johnny Jump-up experience.
We will try again later.
And since I was taking pictures... I thought I would continue.
I captured this sweet little face on camera....
Sweeter then sugar if you ask me!
Dinosaur, Dinosaur, What do you see?
So I thought it was very "Wyatt appropriate" when the other morning I overheard him doing his own version of the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear...
This is what I heard -
Dinosaur, Dinosaur, What do you see? I see a Triceratops looking at me.
Triceratops, Triceratops, what do you see? I see a Parasaurolophus looking at me. Parasaurolophus, Parasaurolophus, what do you see? I see a Tyrannosaurus Rex looking at me. T-rex, T-rex, what do you see? I see an Ankylosaurus looking at me.
Ankylosaurus, Ankylosaurus, what do you see? I see a Brontosaurus looking at me. Brontosaurus, Brontosaurus, what do you see? I see a Pterodactyl looking at me.
Pterodactyl, Pterodactyl, what do you see? I see a Stegosaurus looking at me.
Stegosaurus, Stegosaurus, what do you see? I see a Tiger looking at me.
That was where the story ended. He was all out of dinosaur names... he had named all the ones he knew... so he ended with a Tiger. I laughed quietly to myself the entire time, I just couldn't get over just how cute it was... but it was SO Wyatt... he just IS the Dinosaur Boy!

Friday's post on Sunday night... yep... you heard me
I am sitting here waiting for Chris' shirts to be done in the washing machine so I can put them in the dryer and go to bed... and I thought, well, since I am just waiting, I mine as well start blogging about some of our weekend. Fun right? Right! It was fun!
We will start with Friday...
Friday:
We spent the whole morning cleaning the house... when I say "we" what I really mean to say is I... I spent all morning cleaning... and when I say "morning" I guess I really mean late morning and most of the afternoon... let's face it... the house was a dump.
Ok, I spent most of the day cleaning. There.
I did take a short break to watch adorable little Icyle play in front of the mirror...
And spit up in front of the mirror too... my little spit up princess!
Ok, back to the whole cleaning thing. I cleaned the whole house because we were having our good friends, The Wheats, over for dinner. They have been some of our closest friends since we moved to Texas, and Chris has known Jay, since they were kids. We had not had them over since we moved and so it gave me a great excuse to really clean the house... isn't it great motivation to clean when you have company? I think so!
Well, the house looked cleaner then it ever had before... I even cleaned all 4 bathrooms... this is the part where you pat me on the back and say "Good job, Amber!"... and I finally cleaned off the counter after living here for 2 1/2 months... yep... I am so on top of things!
We had a great time with the Wheat family! Connie was my first TX friend! She will always be my btff (best TX friend forever)! Chris and Jay have known each other for years and they always seem to just pick up where they left off when we get together. Wyatt and Aidan have been going on playdates since before they were born and are totally bffs. Icyle and Audrey are 2 months apart... Icyle is 4 months and Audrey is 2 months... and I am hoping that they will grow up to be great friends just like their brothers are!
I didn't take many pictures while they were over, leave it to me to wait to the last few minutes to pull the camera out... but anyways... here are the pictures I took...
I love the hair differences in this picture... so cute!
Wyatt wasn't too happy that Aidan was playing with Icyle...
Can't we all just get along?
There was lots of running and playing...
Icyle had a nice conversation with the monkey...
Aidan entertaining Icyle...
Wyatt said he was "just giving hugs" to Aidan... but I am pretty sure he was tackling him for playing with Icyle again...
By the end of the night, Icyle was spent... we all were. We were stuffed full of homemade pizza and apple crisp with ice cream! It was all so good... not to toot my own horn, but I made a mean apple crisp! We had a great time talking and catching up on life... the guys talked about work and ufc, us girls talked mostly about mommyhood, the boys played with toys (and Aidan played with Icyle, much to Wyatt's dismay) the babies played/slept... and it was wonderful!

on a move...
While I was putting Wyatt to bed tonight, Icyle was playing on the floor. She has surprised me with how much she scoots and rolls these days. Just so you can get an idea of how much my not even 4 month old moves I will give you the low-down of tonight's movements...
I laid her down in the middle of the room...
she rolled/scooted almost out the door of the bedroom...
she then rolled/scooted over to crib...
then she rolled/scooted under her crib and finally got stuck on one of the crib legs...
that was were I found her when I was done getting Wyatt to bed.
I thought I would have more time to prepare for this...
but I guess she is a mover and a shaker just like her big brother!

Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?
Today after a long day out (we went to the gym and then played at Darley's house for the afternoon), we got home and while I was making a cherry cobbler to bring to Bible Study fellowship tonight Wyatt was entertaining Icyle by reading her Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see? It is one of his favorite books... he learned his colors from that book, and it is one of the few books that he can read all by himself! (So cute, I need to post a video of him reading it... just adorable!) So he was reading it to Icyle and about halfway through the book the 3rd or 4th time, it became silent... then Icyle started getting fussy... so I popped the cobbler in the oven and came to see what was going on...
and this is what I found....
Poor little guy had had enough... he was spent... nothing left... he didn't even have enough in him to climb up onto the couch... instead he went underneath it (kind of). And Icyle, well, she was getting fussy because her entertainment had stopped.
Tonight before bed Wyatt read Brown Bear, Brown Bear to me... it was so darn cute I was trying not to laugh the whole time... he always peeks at the next page to see what's coming next, but he doesn't want you to know he is peeking, so he does it really sneaky like... so cute and SO funny to watch!
I am going to try to get it on video tomorrow... and if I do, I will post it!

Bed jumping, Exersaucers, Dino shorts, and movie watching
After waking up at 3:45 this morning (when Chris had to get up to go to work) I couldn't fall back to sleep. I started thinking about money... you know when you start thinking about something you can't change at 3:45 in the morning, but you worry about it anyway? Yah... that was what I was doing. I started thinking about how I never paid the water bill because I forgot and how I was afraid they were going to come shut our water off and then we would have to pay the $75 fee it takes for them to turn it back on and well... it was just silly (I mean really... are they going to come and turn the water off at 3:45 in the morning? No. I think not!)
So after thinking about it for about an hour and a half I finally fell back asleep only to be awakened very shortly after by Wyatt, who is my early riser... I convinced him it was still night time (thanks to dark curtains), got him a cup of milk, and brought him in bed with me. He fell back asleep and we didn't wake up till almost 8:00... it was wonderful!
The first thing I did this morning, well after feeding Icyle, was pay the water bill (which wasn't even actually over due, I just thought it was), then I made some breakfast from the last few pieces of toast we had left in the house (nothing like toast with some cinnamon and sugar on it for the 5th day in a row), got my workout clothes on and then headed off to the gym to meet up with my friend Michelle (Darley's mom for those of you who know about Wyatt's obsession with Darley).
My butt now hurts every time I move and my legs feel like they could buckle at any moment... but it was a good workout! After the gym, Wyatt insisted that Darley was going to the grocery store with us, even though she was going home. We made it out of the grocery store with enough food for the week and only spent $36!! I know, I am impressed too! Nothing like living on a super tight budget!
So, after the gym and grocery store, we came home, ate some left overs for lunch while we watched The Iron Giant, and then it was nap time. Yeah! We all took naps... I heart nap time!

After nap time we played and I took some pictures of my children...
Jumping on the bed... and hiding under the covers
Riding on mommy's back... and choking mommy in the process...
Playing in the Exersaucer... and being absolutely adorable...
because we love dinosaurs SO much...
(this picture was taken last night... are they not just precious? But they did watch a movie... just not in their pajamas...
they need to take a bath first)
So now here we are... waiting for the most exciting part of our day... daddy coming home from work! Wyatt is playing play-doh and bugging his sister... Icyle is laying next to me on the couch and getting poked in the face, tummy, head, nose, etc... I am writing this blog (obviously) and very soon it will be bath time and pajama time and then hopefully soon after that Chris will get home from work so the kids can enjoy him before bedtime! And I can enjoy him after that! (Not in a dirty way... seriously... get your head out of the gutter!)
