My Sick Little Guy

It's been a very long week around here.
Wyatt came down with what we thought was a cold last Wednesday evening and it progressively got worse through the rest of the week. By Sunday afternoon he was running a fever of 103.5 and had a nasty cough but I didn't take him into the doctor until Tuesday when he woke up again with another high fever for the 3rd day in a row.
The doctor diagnosed Wyatt with Para-influenza, Bronchitis, and a Double ear infection. He was given 2 shots to help with the ear infections and was put on 4 different antibiotics. We went back into the doctor today, Wednesday, and he was put on breathing treatments to clear up the bronchitis in his lungs. On Friday we have to go back onto the doctor to make sure he has made progress and that his ears are starting to clear up, if they are not looking better he will get 2 more shots and they will reevaluate the antibiotics he is on.
So, that is what I have been doing for the last week... taking care of my sick little guy! Tonight is the first night he has not had any fever and actually seemed like he was feeling a little better! Hopefully by the end of the week he will be back to normal Wyatt and we can finally get back to normal life, aka, not having the TV on 24/7.

Welcome to the World

Today at 7:51 pm Eisley Cyanne Theisen made her way into the world!
Mommy Alyssa, Daddy Eric, and New Big Brother Emmett are all overjoyed with this amazing new blessing!
Eisley weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and she is 20 and 1/2 inches long.
Her middle name 'Cyanne' is after her two grandmothers
Cynthia and Joanne.
My only sadness in all this is not being able to be in MN to meet my new niece in person!
Welcome to the World Eisley Cyanne Theisen!!

Tis the season... sort of

I love Christmas... and every year I have to resist the urge to decorate before I really should. I totally know I am going to be that crazy old lady who puts Christmas lights out before Halloween and then leaves them up till after Easter. As soon as I see the first Christmas tree in a store or hear that first Christmas song, something in me just goes nuts and I want to decorate everything! I want my whole house to look, smell, and taste like Christmas.
This year has not been any different. I have been resisting the urge to decorate and I have not even let myself go into the Christmas aisles at the store because I know I am weak... but I did let Wyatt get a snowman window cling from the dollar section at target... I thought "Well, it's only a dollar and it's not really a Christmas decoration, it's more like a winter decoration."
I realize now that this was my way of cheating... I have a decoration up, as small as it may be, it is still a decoration. But every time I look at it it makes me smile and I know that soon my whole house will look like Christmas and that makes me happy! This whole season makes me happy... I love this season!

Wyatt or an Alien?

As I was getting ready for the day, Wyatt was keeping himself busy in the bathroom. I wasn't paying attention until I heard him playing in the trash can. I walked in and found this "little alien" stealing our tooth paste box!
I don't know what the obsession is with leaving q-tips in his ears... but whenever he gets into the q-tips he sticks them straight into his ears and there they stay.

A funny moment between siblings....

Last night my brother Andrew and I were throwing/ skipping rocks into the River by our house... I asked Andrew, "Can you throw a rock all the way across the river?" He said, "I don't know, probably." So he found a good rock and threw is effortlessly across the river where it landed safely on the ground. He then turned to me and asked, "Can you throw one across the river?" and I so confidently, seeing how easy it was for him, said "Yeah!" So, I found a good rock, wound up, and threw the rock as hard as I could... it landed 2 feet in front of me... in the mud... not even in the water! We were laughing so hard, I almost peed my pants! After like 5 minutes of laughing Andrew said, "Nope... I guess you can't!"
